RELEASED PART 4: GET DRESSED WITH RIGHTEOUSNESS!

Released Part 4: Get Dressed with Righteousness

In the previous blogs in this series the nature of our enemy is discussed and how we are to use the armor of God to fight our battles. It also discusses that we do not fight according to our own strength but through the supernatural working power of God's Spirit. We also discuss that our enemy is not people but it is spiritual wickedness in high places. The war that we are fighting is not against one another. It is against the enemy and can only be fought through spiritual means such as prayer and the word of God. Part one of this series includes travail and how we are to use prayer as a weapon of defense against the enemy. In part two we discuss the importance of standing firm in faith while facing a new challenge or battle in our lives. It also encourages the believer to stay sober or well-balanced in ones emotions and remain alert so that the enemy does not catch us off guard. In part four of this series we discussed the difference between the truth and a lie, darkness and light. It is only through God's truth, Jesus Christ that we can discover or experience true illumination and spiritual victory.

In our last blog Recover the Oil Prayer Collective studied how important it is to hear the voice of God and how to not be led away by the voice of the enemy. We discussed the nature of our enemy and the importance of understanding how the enemy works and how to truly fight the enemy. This is the year of RELEASE and if we want God to accomplish the supernatural in our lives and if we want to experience the supernatural release of God we have to learn how to do spiritual warfare. DO you think that the enemy wants you to be free from BONDAGE? Do you think the enemy wants to release you from the yolks, chains, and forces of darkness that he has sent to hinder you from walking in a new level of freedom? As long as you are in this flesh the enemy will do his best to keep you from walking in your purpose and fulfilling your assignments, destiny and God-Visions that God has given you. It is his job to strip you of God's gifts that He has placed in you to complete the assignment of giving God glory in this earth realm and in the heavenly places.

As we continue this series let us look further at how God wants us to be clothed. God definitely requires that we travail in prayer, that we stay well-balanced, fearless and watchful. God demands that we operate on the offense versus on the defense. He requires that we examine ourselves, stay prayerful so that when attacks come and we sense that a storm is coming that we be prepared to respond according to God's word. Spiritual warfare requires the ability to put one's flesh under subjection and not respond according to the flesh. It is important that we wear the fruit of the spirit listed in Galatians 5:22 versus the flesh.

Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: [i]immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, [j]factions, 21 envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24 Now those who [k]belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also [l]walk by the Spirit. 26 Let us not become boastful, challenging one another, envying one another. Galatians 5:22-25

It is not easy to keep this up. As years go on and the longer one is saved, one may have to re-examine oneself and where one is with bearing the fruits of the spirit. Sometimes life can throw you a few curve balls or the wrong choices we make send us on the wrong path, but God is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9) Let us reflect on how we are allowing God's fruit to develop in our spirit. Are you allowing patience, faith, joy, gentleness, goodness, kindness, and love to be developed properly during difficult trials. It is easy to have patience when everything is going well. But how does your fruit look when you are experiencing adversity and must travail?

In the book of Acts 12:1-11

Now about that time [a]Herod the king laid hands on some who belonged to the church in order to mistreat them. 2 And he had James, the brother of John put to death with a sword. 3 When he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded to arrest Peter also. Now [b]it was during the days of Unleavened Bread. 4 When he had seized him, he put him in prison, delivering him to four [c]squads of soldiers to guard him, intending after the Passover to bring him out before the people. 5 So Peter was kept in the prison, but prayer for him was being made fervently by the church to God.

6 On [d]the very night when Herod was about to bring him forward, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains, and guards in front of the door were watching over the prison. 7 And behold, an angel of the Lord suddenly appeared and a light shone in the cell; and he struck Peter’s side and woke him up, saying, “Get up quickly.” And his chains fell off his hands. 8 And the angel said to him, “Gird yourself and [e]put on your sandals.” And he did so. And he *said to him, “Wrap your cloak around you and follow me.” 9 And he went out and continued to follow, and he did not know that what was being done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision. 10 When they had passed the first and second guard, they came to the iron gate that leads into the city, which opened for them by itself; and they went out and went along one street, and immediately the angel departed from him. 11 When Peter came [f]to himself, he said, “Now I know for sure that the Lord has sent forth His angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod and from all [g]that the Jewish people were expecting.”

During this series we are observing how Peter and the saints faced a perplexing and difficult situation. One must place oneself in the very shoes of Peter. Peter was an Apostle and very close friend and disciple of Jesus Christ. He had endured harsh times before, but here was an ex-fisherman turned Evangelist being guarded like a criminal in prison. They had him so tightly guarded that it would have been inhumanely possible for him to be delivered. However; God sent an Angel to do something in the natural that only the supernatural could accomplish. God worked a miracle for Peter and I believe that yes God can work one for us too!

Peter's response to his imprisonment was faith and obedience. Peter had been so trained by Jesus and Christ's example that his response to a testing situation was peace and obedience. When a storm came in Mark 4:35-41, Peter and the disciples' response was fear. While Jesus was resting at the bottom of the ship, the disciples were tripp'n. They were anxious. Jesus told them not to be afraid and spoke to the storm and it ceased. Peter's response to this storm was to trust God. He was sleeping through his storm. Peter had learned how to respond to the storm. This tells us that Peter was not afraid and fully trusted God no matter what the outcome was.

It is not a surprise that in order for the fullness of deliverance to take place, there was some things that Peter had to do. One was get up. Two was gird himself and put on his sandals. The sandals and the girding or pulling up on oneself clothing is a sign of preparation. Peter could not walk out of his imprisonment naked. He had to get clothed or covered. When we respond according to our flesh we leave ourselves naked and uncovered. When we obey we walk into divine order and freedom.

Our last blog ended with getting dressed by putting on the belt of truth. During this blog we will tackle the importance of putting on the breastplate of righteousness. The belt which is truth holds everything together even the breastplate. One could say that believing God's truth which is Jesus, is the foundation for standing against the wiles of the devil. Speaking and living by the words of truth keeps the enemy at bay. The Breast plate of righteousness is the next piece of armor that Apostle Paul mentions in Ephesians 6:10-14

Finally, brethren be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. 12 For our struggle is not against [e]flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. 14 Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,

What is a breastplate?

This particular piece of armor covers or protects the chest. The breastplate protects the major organs in the torso. The chest contains the heart and lungs, while the abdomen houses the digestive system, including the stomach, small intestines, large intestines, liver and pancreas. The torso also encases the spleen, kidneys, bladder and reproductive system.

These organs are imperative to have in order to maintain homeostasis or balance in one's body. If one's heart is injured one can die. If one's lungs go out one can also die. If one does not have a stomach or endocrine system food cannot be properly digested to insure that one's body receives the proper nutrition. The liver, spleen, kidneys and bladder help to keep the body free from waste and at optimum health. The reproductive system is necessary to sustain life on earth and that there are more humans to be created in this earth and sustain life. Plants rely on the carbon dioxide that we exhale as we rely on the oxygen that it releases.

What do these organs say about our spiritual life and how God can use each job of each organ to represent the importance of us maintaining our own spiritual survival as Christians.

It is the hearts job to pump blood and carry oxygen through-out our bodies in veins to keep the various parts of our body warm and thriving. Each time our heart beats it is supplying our bodies with necessary oxygen and nutrients we need to live. When the heart goes out we die. The heart is symbolic of our souls, emotions or spirits. When we allow our spiritual hearts to get clogged with a lot of junk it prevents our spirits from carrying the necessary word to ourselves that is needed to sustain life. When we became too carnal or weighed down with bitterness, anger, frustration, fear and pride we begin to get all clogged up with the flesh and fleshly appetites that we can no longer filter through God's word properly. The love we used to have waxes cold and we may have once been the most loving creature but because of the tests and struggles of life we allowed our love to wax cold. Love covers a multitude of failings and brings healing and wholeness. The heart also removes waste and gives the body nutrients. When negative substances enter into the blood stream it contaminates or poisons our body. The antithesis of love is hatred, envy, fear, pride, vainglory, self- ambition, jealousy, stinginess, anger and doubt. These are the spiritual poisons that the enemy brings into our spiritual circulatory system or thoughts through negative people, negative words, negative experiences, abuse, demons, and the works of our own flesh. The only thing that combats these spiritual diseases, weaknesses and infirmities is the supernatural working power of God including the breastplate of Righteousness!

What is righteousness?

Amos 6:12
Shall horses run upon the rock? will one plow there with oxen? for ye have turned judgment into gall, and the fruit of righteousness into hemlock:

Fruit in this particular text is the word Pere in Hebrew. It means the produce, progeny or actions that comes from a seed or plant. The root word is Para, and it means to bear fruit or show fruitfulness.

The word righteousness comes from the Hebrew word tsedaka, which means justified, truthfulness, of God's attributes, ethically right, vindicated, righteous acts, in conduct and character and prosperity.

HEMLOCK: any of several poisonous herbs (as a poison hemlock or a water hemlock) of the carrot family having finely cut leaves and small white flowers
b : a drug or lethal drink prepared from the poison hemlock.

WORMWOOD: something grievous or bitter

While we know that the Webster's dictionary describes that hemlock is a poison the word in Hebrew is Lahana and it means wormwood or bitterness. One can come to the conclusion from these studies that sin is the opposite of the fruits of righteousness. When we are not bearing the fruit of righteousness one is bearing the poison of sin. The poison that the enemy plants in our spiritual gardens is bitterness.
Christians develop bitterness when we pridefully forget that Jehovah is our maker. We forget that the great I am is and He exists without any one's help. He is not a resource; however God is the source. We get distracted feeling as if life is passing us by as we wait on Him. Sometimes we as Christians stop relying on God because it seems as if nothing is happening and we cannot see His hand at work. We feel that because we have been faithful, that we should not have to endure more harshness or pain. The truth is who are we to complain? Jesus never complained. He knew his assignment and though He was tired He endured the cross. Having endured the cross he experienced true prosperity, true promotion and true dominion.

Hebrews 12:1-17
We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God's throne.

For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary [c]and lose heart.

A Father’s Discipline
4 You have not yet resisted [d]to the point of shedding blood in your striving against sin; 5 and you have forgotten the exhortation which is addressed to you as sons,

“My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord,
Nor faint when you are reproved by Him;
6 For those whom the Lord loves He disciplines,
And He scourges every son whom He receives.”
7 It is for discipline that you endure; God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline? 8 But if you are without discipline, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate children and not sons.
9 Furthermore, we had [e]earthly fathers to discipline us, and we respected them; shall we not much rather be subject to the Father of [f]spirits, and live? 10 For they disciplined us for a short time as seemed best to them, but He disciplines us for our good, so that we may share His holiness. 11 All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.

12 Therefore, [g]strengthen the hands that are weak and the knees that are feeble, 13 and make straight paths for your feet, so that the limb which is lame may not be put out of joint, but rather be healed.

14 Pursue peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord. 15 See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be defiled; 16 that there be no immoral or godless person like Esau, who sold his own birthright for a single meal. 17 For you know that even afterwards, when he desired to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he sought for it with tears.

Sometimes one has to take the necessary time to allow oneself to heal. It's okay to let yourself or give yourself time to heal. When a foot is injured one must bind it up or be put in a splint to hold it together while it heals. When it comes out of the cast or boot one must strengthen the muscles and limbs that have not been in use so that one is able to walk properly. Physical Therapy will be necessary to heal such wombs. So while the battle you are enduring has you whipped, fatigued or tired keep fighting by taking time to retreat, pray, fast and strengthen oneself so what is deficient, can be made strong again.

James 3:9-18

But no one can tame the tongue; it is a restless evil and full of deadly poison. 9 With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the likeness of God; 10 from the same mouth come both blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be this way. 11 Does a fountain send out from the same opening both [g]fresh and bitter water? 12 Can a fig tree, my brethren, produce olives, or a vine produce figs? Nor can salt water produce [h]fresh.

Wisdom from Above
13 Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom. 14 But if you have bitter jealousy and [i]selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth. 15 This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, [j]natural, demonic. 16 For where jealousy and [k]selfish ambition exist, [l]there is disorder and every evil thing. 17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, [m]reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy. 18 And the [n]seed whose fruit is righteousness is sown in peace [o]by those who make peace.

Ephesians 5:11-21

Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. 7 Therefore do not be partakers with them; 8 for you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light 9 (for the fruit of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth), 10 [f]trying to learn what is pleasing to the Lord. 11 Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even [g]expose them; 12 for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret. 13 But all things become visible when they are [h]exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light. 14 For this reason [i]it says,

“Awake, sleeper,
And arise from the dead,
And Christ will shine on you.”
15 Therefore [j]be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, 16 [k]making the most of your time, because the days are evil. 17 So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not get drunk with wine, [l]for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to [m]one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord; 20 always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to [n]God, even the Father; 21 [o]and be subject to one another in the [p]fear of Christ.

From the summation of the following scriptures one can surmise that the breastplate of righteousness is

1. RIGHTEOUSNESS Is the ability to endure by trusting God and refraining ones tongue in the times of battle. It is enduring through holding one's peace and allowing God to fight one's battle. It is the wisdom to be quiet for a season and wait for God to give us the right words to speak at the right time. This is the way of living offensively versus defensively.

2. RIGHTEOUSNESS is pursuing peace by remaining humble and serving your boss or leaders as if you were serving God and not man. This is not easy when one has been mistreated or mishandled by people in authority. However if one obeys God in spite of the test, one will learn the importance of being still, waiting on God and holding one's peace. When we respond in peaceful ways rather than in anger or fear our patience is being strengthened and the love of God shines more brightly. Negative experiences with people can cause us to respond wrong to people who may not mean harm. It is our responsiblity to ask God to take out any root of bitterness that can cause us to miss out on any blessings that God has for us.

3. RIGHTEOUSNESS is being wise and alert to be prepared to respond to others with wisdom, patience, humility and love.

4.RIGHTEOUSNESS is having a worship filled mindset and is filled with the joy of the Lord. A righteous mindset includes being so focused on not offending God that it is easy to humbly respond with words of peace.

5.RIGHTEOUSNESS is being easy or quick to apologize whether one is right or wrong. Righteousness is being willing to forgive or forbear.

6. RIGHTEOUSNESS is being content and not jealous or envious of others.

7. RIGHTEOUSNESS is being confident in who they are and does not fear that anyone can or will take their place because they get their self- confidence from God. Their greatest goal is to please God and that God will be glorified in all things.

8. RIGHTEOUSNESS is not being motivated by completing goals that precede from themselves, however goals that precede from the spirit of God.

As we go through difficult storms or tests remember what God's fruit looks like. Whether it is an accident, abuse, mistreatment on a job or assignment, a misunderstanding, being lied on or back-stabbed by a close friend or loved one, enduring a terminal illness, bereavement or any other type of challenge or test remember what your fruit should look like.

Lengthy exams can fatigue anyone. Ask God to help you in your weakness and time of drought. You may have never stopped praying and maybe you just don't pray as much as you used to, but if you see any difference in your fruit after a long lasting battle its perfectly normal. Now ask God to help you allow Him to develop His Fruit in you according to his word.

Prayer: Lord it has been a tough battle. It's been a difficult battle. Some of the people that I thought would be there for me in the storm turned on me. Some of the people I thought would have my back didn't. I was betrayed, denied and lied to.
Lord this has been a tough season. I experienced how it feels to be ill and unable to care for myself. There was even a time when I lost everything. I was disappointed by some people and experienced heart break. But Lord even through pain you were there. Even when I wallowed in self -pity, pride, anger, bitterness and denial you were there. You never doubted me and you have always been there.
I trust you. Even when I was defeated you counted me as a winner. Thank you for being there with me. Thank you for not leaving me and letting me completely throw in the towel. I won't give up. I won't grow weary in well doing I will fight the good fight of faith.
I'm still fighting. Even though I am depleted and I'm tired I let go and let you fight my battles for me. For anyone who tries to take advantage of me or mismanage the authority you have graced them with I turn them over to you. I trust you and I will not fight this battle. The battle is the Lords!'
In Jesus matchless name. Amen!

A tree is known by its fruit; a man by his
deeds. A good deed is never lost; he who
sows courtesy reaps friendship, and he who
plants kindness gathers love.

Released! Part 3 Get Dressed

A table, a chair, a bowl of fruit and a violin; what else
does a man need to be happy?

In our last blog Recover the Oil Prayer Collective studied how important it is to hear the voice of God and how not to be led away by the voice of the enemy. This is the year of RELEASE and if we want God to accomplish the supernatural in our lives and if we want to experience the supernatural release of God we have to learn how to do spiritual warfare. DO you think that the enemy wants you to be free from BONDAGE? Do you thing the enemy wants to release you from the yolks, chains, and forces of darkness that he has sent to hinder you from walking in a new level of freedom. We discussed the nature of our enemy and the importance of understanding how the enemy works and how to truly fight the enemy. We concluded that the enemy is:

A. The enemy is a deceiver and distorter of truth. St. John 8:44

B. The enemy is a murderer and a liar.

C. The enemy is a Thief! The enemy is a destroyer.

D. The enemy is deliberate and seeks to devour, consume, eat you up, get rid of you!

E. The enemy is an accuser of the bretheren Revelations 12:10-12

F.The enemy is a ruler of darkness(CONFINEMENT, FEAR, UNBALANCED MINDSET, PRISON, CAPTIVITY, STRONGHOLDS, POWERLESSNESS, FAITHLESSNESS and DEPRESSION AND OPPRESSION) in a spiritual realm in another dimension.

Last month's blog highlighted the fact that it is the enemy's job to fight against your thoughts and to bring arguments to your mind that are contrary to the very word of God. The only way to fight off these arguments, thoughts and fears is to first recognize that your weapons are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. It is only through the power of God that we are able to stand against the enemy. The word of God says in Ephesians 6:10-14

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

The only way to stand against the enemy is to

understand the enemy, who he is and what his tactics are.

2. Be Strong in the Lord and the power of His might!
2. Put on the whole armor of God

Last month we discussed the importance of standing by understanding who our enemy is. This month we will take a look at what armor God has given us to use in this battle. One of the most important things to remember in order to fight the enemy is to understand the very important fact that the enemy can only be conquered and beaten by one power and that is by the power of God. Strongholds can only be brought down through the power of God.

Question: How do we as Christians possess the power of God?
Answer: By putting on the whole armor of God. There is one piece of armor that will be discussed this month. The Bible says in Ephesians 6:14 The Belt of truth!

Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

Acts 12:6-8

And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.

And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon [him], and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from [his] hands.

And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.

Here it is in this particular passage of scripture that Peter is in prison and the angel of the lord gives him some instructions. This first was to Arise up quickly. Then some chains fell off of his hands. Then the angel of the Lord said, "Gird Yourself"

The word gird means to strap on or get yourself together. The only way to get out of prison and get fully delivered and fully prepared for your next assignment is to hear the voice of God, obey and put on the proper dressing. Peter was doubly guarded and with out the proper garments necessary to be seen in public. In the bible nakedness is equated with having a lack of light, luster, or glory.  If one is naked, one cannot fight. If one does not have the proper clothing to wear in battle one can not fight. Sin is nakedness. It means to be bare or empty from being covered by God.

When we turn away from God and choose to do our own things and live life our own way we become naked. The fruits of the spirit are called fruit because it is the character of God that dresses God's saint. A tree is barren when it does not bear the fruit of the one who planted it's seed. The seed of God should look like His image and when we run away from God and take on the character or seed of satan we no longer look like a beautiful fruit tree full of fruit, but our demeanor and way of living becomes a picture of a barren tree. The fruits of the spirit can only adorn the saints when they put on the armor of God to fight off the tactics of the enemy.

Take a look at what it means to gird oneself based on the word of God. In the book of Acts and Ephesians the word gird means to:
  1. to fasten garments with a girdle or belt
  2. to gird one's self
  3. metaph. with truth as a girdle
    1. to equip one's self with knowledge of the truth
During the time that these events occurred the belt is what kept every thing in tact. If a soldier did not wear a belt then he was unable to keep the rest of his armor on. The belt of truth for the Christian is the belt of what is real or what we consider natural and spiritual reality.

The word truth in the Webster's dictionary means:

the real facts about something : the things that are

true

the body of real things, events, and facts :

sincerity in action, character, and utterance

The enemy is a liar and it is his nature to twist the truth. If one does not understand what the truth is, then one can not see what is real or reality. One can not live illuminated or enlightened lives with out the truth. The truth of Gods word is stated in St John 14:6

Jesus said unto him, I am the way the truth and the life. No man comes to me but, by the father.

What is truth?

Jesus is truth

15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed[d] in heaven.”

The truth is that Jesus is the Son of God. Jesus gave the disciples the power to bind and loose; the power to command doors to open and shut. He also has given believers today that power!

Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who ever came before Me[a] are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. 10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

The truth is Jesus came to give us life and it more abundantly. The enemy steals, but Jesus Gives Freely.

Who said that? Jesus. Jesus is the way the truth and the life. Everything that Jesus said and everything that Jesus is; his character and everything that he did is the way to live. What is the character of Jesus? Everything that Jesus has shown us in how he lived his life is how we should strive to operate. What were Jesus' responses to the enemy? How did he respond to the word of God? How did he respond to the attacks of the enemy? This is who Jesus is. This is what truth is and this truth is what enables us to stay ready, dressed and prepared for battle. It is this truth that awakens us and enables us be fully prepared for battle. Jesus is the truth, the rock, foundation and is the enlightenment that breaks the shackles of darkness off of us. It is the seed or word that causes the supernatural transformation that changes our way of thinking, seeing and doing. Truth changes our perception and gives us a real view of who we are in the kingdom of God and in this world and the world to come.

Jesus is humble So when He had washed their feet, taken His garments, and sat down again, He said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you? 13 You call Me Teacher and Lord, and you say well, for so I am. 14 If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. 15 For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you. 16 Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him. 17 If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them

Jesus used the word to respond to the enemy :

But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’”[a]
Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written:
‘He shall give His angels charge over you,’
and,
‘In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’[b]
Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt theLord your God.’”[c]
Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.”
10 Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you,[d] Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’”[e]
11 Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.

Jesus comes to resurrect-

Jesus resurrects the widows son at Nain Luke 7:13-14
Jesus resurrects Lazarus from the dead St. John 11:43-44
Many saints resurrected at Jesus' resurrection Matthew 27:52-53

There are countless records in the bible of Jesus as a restorer, healer, payer of debts, pardon of sins, deliverer, intercessor, chastiser, teacher, unconditional giver of love and compassion. Jesus is the chief Shepherd and a chief shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. He is listed as the chief Apostle and Prophet. Jesus was a holder of all the gifts of the five-fold ministry callings. Jesus was a compassionate winner of souls. The fruit of his ministry has reaped a great harvest of millions. Jesus was and is truly the TRUTH!

Jesus is the word and when we speak and live the words that He lived we are transformed by the renewing of our minds. The word of God is truth. St John 1

2 Timothy 3:15-17 reads

and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

New Living Translation

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 2 Timothy 3:16

The word of God is truth. Every word that

proceeds out of the mouth of God is truth.

God's word is true and if we tie his word

around our spiritual wastes it will help keep

the rest of God's armor in place. God's truth

knocks down every lie the enemy presents to

you.

The bible says to gird up the loins of our minds

Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. 1 Peter 1:13

In the passage of scripture Peter encourages Christians on how to gird up the loins of their minds.

"The term "gird one's loins" was used in the Roman Era meaning to pull up and tie one's lower garments between one's legs to increase one's mobility in battle. In the modern age, it has become an idiom meaning to prepare oneself for the worst"

The word loins is used to reference the sexual organs of the human body. The phrase the "fruit of your womb" is used to refer to the posterity, seed or children of some one.

When looking at the following references I believe Peter was encouraging the saints to get their minds in the right frame of mind to engage in spiritual warfare and to live as Christians.

Peter's goal was to instruct the Christians about how to guard the fruit or seed of their minds. What is sown in the mind, is what tends to come out of our mouths and our actions.

Peter tells the Christians that the only way to guard the

seeds of the word of God from being plucked from their minds is to be alert, sober minded, and setting ones hope on the reward of God's deliverance from eternal torment and darkness.

The only way to gird up the loins of our minds is to be well-balanced in our thoughts. This happens through ingesting and downloading the word of truth. This happens by remembering why we are here, who we are working for and what he has promised us.

18 “Therefore hear the parable of the sower: 19 When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside. 20 But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; 21 yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles. 22 Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful. 23 But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.” 13:18-23

Those who have a sincere heart who have embraced the truth will bring forth fruit.(TRUTH)

The True Vine

15 “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vine dresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away;[a] and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will[b] ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.

In order to truly gird up the loins of our minds and protect the seed or word that God has placed in us is by abiding in Him. If we abide in Him and in HIS TRUTH we will bear the fruit of God's Character the fruits of the Spirit. We will look like him and be dressed with his fruit and truth!

The Spirit of God is truth!

15 “If you love Me, keep[d] My commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

Jesus died so that we could have access to God's spirit so that we could fight this flesh, have his character and image. Jesus died so that mankind could be fully restored back to complete oneness with Him and God. Jesus accomplished this by giving His life so that we could have life on earth through God's Spirit who empowers us to make the best choices that will be pleasing to God; which is to obey His words(TRUTH) and be an example of who He is in a dark world! God wants us to be the truth in a world of lies!

A tree is known by its fruit; a man by his
deeds. A good deed is never lost; he who
sows courtesy reaps friendship, and he who
plants kindness gathers love.

May your Day Be Filled with the Love of Christ!

Released Series: Part 2 ARISE!

Released Part 2: Arise and Shine!

In order for the light to shine so brightly, the darkness must be present.
The characteristics of darkness is indicative of what it means to be in a prison. Even in the calm, comfort of the darkness of a mother's womb is limited confinement that must cease in its due season. There is a time to die and a time to be born. A time to mourn and a time to dance. Ecclesiastes 3: 1-4 says it this way:

For everything there is a season,
a time for every activity under heaven.
A time to be born and a time to die.
A time to plant and a time to harvest.
A time to kill and a time to heal.
A time to tear down and a time to build up.
A time to cry and a time to laugh.
A time to grieve and a time to dance.

You may be encountering a season of darkness of confinement or imprisonment. It may be a season of sorrow, a season of loss, a season of disappointment, spiritual attacks from the left and the right. Your darkness or prison may be illness, depression or even watching a close loved one go through drug addiction. As a result of the fall of man darkness and dark moments are inevitable. What does it mean to be in a place of confinement or darkness? What does prison look like for you? What is your prison?

The word prison means:

a building for the confinement of accused persons awaiting trial or persons sentenced after conviction.

any place of confinement or involuntary restraint.

Confine-to keep (someone or something) within limits : to prevent (someone or something) from going beyond a particular limit, area, etc.

The Confining and imprisoning forces of our lives come from intrinsic and extrinsic forces. As a result of being born in sin with out the power of Jesus Christ ruling and having dominion over of us the human mind body and spirit is ruled by innate desires and passions that can only be regulated by satan and demonic oppression. Human beings minus God equals darkness, confusion, bondage, and defeat.

Darkness denotes imprisonment in that darkness is confining. When stuck in the dark one can only go so far. One can only see so far or not at all. When one dwells or lives in darkness one is vulnerable to be controlled, mishandled, carried away and thrown any where. Some one who dwells in darkness is not mobile, is not advancing or moving towards neither can they be elevated to soar to the levels and dimensions that God has planned for their lives. Darkness is indicative of a cell where one remains motionless.

What has you paralyzed, motionless, at a standstill, unproductive, at a bottleneck? What has you confined?

When you dwell in darkness it is easy to be robbed and taken advantaged of.
What am I driving at in this blog before I even get to my main point?
I'm driving at that age old adversary that force of darkness that is insistent, deliberately, consistently with out ceasing stretching out his hands to destroy you, your life and those connected to you.

This is his Character and his Nature:

Genesis 3:3,4-Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die.For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

A. The enemy is a deceiver and distorter of truth.

John 8:44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.

B. The enemy is a murderer and a liar.

10:10 The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.

C. The enemy is a Thief! The enemy is a destroyer.

1 Peter 5:8

Be sober, be vigilant; because[c] your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

D. The enemy is deliberate and seeks to devour, consume, eat you up, get rid of you!

Revelations 12:10-12

10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.12 Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.”

E. The enemy is an accuser of the bretheren

Ephesians 6

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,[c]against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Meaning: The weapons of our warfare are not carnal-in the flesh, in our own power or might, ability, knowledge or strength but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,2 Corinthians 10:4

Our weapons are mighty in God! Who is God but the supreme, infinite, all knowing, all powerful, all seeing, all sufficient God! He is the God that wars on our behalf which brings us to a continuation of our previous blog post of Peter's release from prison:

Peter’s Miraculous Escape from Prison Acts 12:6-8
The night before Peter was to be placed on trial, he was asleep, fastened with two chains between two soldiers. Others stood guard at the prison gate. Suddenly, there was a bright light in the cell, and an angel of the Lord stood before Peter. The angel struck him on the side to awaken him and said, “Quick! Get up!” And the chains fell off his wrists. Then the angel told him, “Get dressed and put on your sandals.” And he did. “Now put on your coat and follow me,” the angel ordered.

Here we have it in this pericope of scripture that Peter has been imprisoned. Not only has he been placed in prison but he was doubly guarded and was doubly chained. In the background text it says that King Herod stretched out his hands against the Christians to persecute them in order to please the Jews. While he waited to execute Peter the saints stretched out before God in fervent prayer to pray for Peter's Divine RELEASE. Peter was guarded in such a way that they could not have delivered Peter from his point of darkness.

The women and men of God in the Body Christ had only one resolve and that was to use spiritual tactics to deal with a spiritual attack. Herod really represents and is governed by a spiritual, demonic, prince of darkness. The Christians' response to this attack against the church was to PRAY WITHOUT CEASING!

God proves in this text that His out stretched hand is bigger than any Outstretched hand of the enemy. The enemy may roam about like a lion, but God has given us power and authority of the enemy and his imps through spiritual warfare.

In order for Peter to be fully delivered he had to obey the voice of the angel of God. Though the enemy has principalities God does too and his power has thee power to overpower the works of darkness.

Psalms 91 states that he For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in [their] hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Pslams 91:11-12

Psalms 68:17-17 The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands upon thousands. The Lord is among them as He was in Sinai, [so also] in the Holy Place (the sanctuary in Jerusalem).

Revelations 12:7-9

Then war broke out in heaven; Michael and his angels went forth to battle with the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought.
But they were defeated, and there was no room found for them in heaven any longer.
And the huge dragon was cast down and out—that age-old serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, he who is the seducer (deceiver) of all humanity the world over; he was forced out and down to the earth, and his angels were flung out along with him.
The enemy is a defeated foe! We already have the victory! If you take the time to read Revelations 12 in it's entirety you will find that God was giving the enemy a glimpse of his future. The enemy's job has been taken. he knows that his time is short and that is why he is after the God in you. He will try to take advantage of you while you are in dark seasons of life that are not under your control but you got to do what the angel of the Lord told Peter to do ARISE!
Matthew 12:29
29 Or how can a person go into a strong man’s house and carry off his goods (the entire equipment of his house) without first binding the strong man? Then indeed he may plunder his house.

Arise for the Light has come and the angel of God is ready to be dispatched but you have to do something! ARISE!

Get up! Stand! Be Firm! Be awake be vigilant be watchful! Be well balanced! Be alert! Be mobile, have faith, don't waver, Stand in Faith. Don't be tossed by the winds and waves of doctrine but believe and trust God's word. Make sure you have a solid foundation of faith so that when the winds come and the waves come you will be able to travail by standing firm on the word of God! There is no time for sleep. No time for lethargy, complacency, being comfortable. There is no time to rest, Be Ready Be diligent.

If you know how to hear God's voice like Peter heard the angel, the wolf referenced in St. John the tenth chapter can't kill, steal or destroy you.

If you hear the voice of God you won't be distracted by the voice of a serpent that speaks half truths because you will compare every voice or argument you hear to the word of God.

If you simply know God's voice you will not be murdered or destroyed but you will resist the enemy and he will flee.

The weapons are our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for the pulling down of strongholds. That word strongholds means opposing arguments. So any opposing voices, arguments, thoughts, lies, untruths, fears, doubts that the enemy brings can be pulled down through reading, speaking, and applying the word of God. If we are rooted in hearing the voice of God the enemy can't come in and destroy our minds and the power to use the weapons mentioned in Ephesians 6!

So BE ENCOURAGED the enemy is fighting against the Body of Christ but we must STAND! Whatever prison you are in today your deliverance starts when you ARISE! Your time to ARISE is NOW!

11 And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. 12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. 13 Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. 14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts. Romans 13:11-14
